With Apple’s release of OS X Mountain Lion they also released Game Center. Game Center is basically the same as the iOS version of Game Center as an area to keep track of stats. Game Center is a way to track achievements of all of your games in one place. Essentially Game Center is Apple’s version of Xbox Live.

Now the only problem I have with Game Center right now is that it should be call Center. By that I mean that there are hardly any games working with Game Center right now. Obviously that will change but it might be a week or two.

Here are the games available as of writing this article:

Real Racing 2 HD, Osmos, Mancala FS5, Spelltower, Anomaly Warzone Earth, Sky Gamblers: Air Supremacy, and Cut the Rope.

Twitter

Game Center

Voice Dictation

Notifications

iMessage

Those are just 6 of the more than 200 features that have been added. Now some people may be wondering why I’m so excited for this when normally I don’t really praise Apple. Well when it comes to phones I believe that Android is far superior to iOS. However when it comes to desktop computing I absolutely love Apple products. I personally own a 21 inch iMac and use the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air on a daily basis. I originally came from using Windows computers and thought Macs were overrated but I was wrong.

Anyway as soon as I give Mountain Lion the rounds and see what she has to offer I will put up my own review on it.

Until then go and grab it for yourself using this link——>OS X Mountain Lion

Nexus 7 has turned out to be quite the tablet. I’ve been able to use it for the past week and I have to say that it is just amazing. Now granted I have seen better build quality out there (yes the ipad) but remember this wasn’t about how expensive they could make it. It was about how they could breach the iPad market.

Unboxing the Nexus 7

Unboxing the Nexus 7 was just as much fun as it has been using it. When I first received my Nexus 7 I had so much anticipation built up, I could hardly control myself. I almost didn’t make an unboxing video just because I was so anxious to start using the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is amazing right out of the box, the feel of it is just great. As soon as I held it up I knew I would be using this a lot. I believe that the 7″ form factor is going to make this a winner. While the 10″ tablets are nice for watching movies the Nexus 7 just feels amazing reading books and games play far better on the 7″ screen.

Well enough of my blabbing, watch the unboxing video for yourself below.

Nexus devices have always been the purest form of Android you could get on a smartphone. That’s how Google wanted it when they started the Nexus program. The big idea behind the Nexus program would be that Nexus devices would always recieve the latest updates as long as their hardware could support it. Now Google is showing support into the tablet arena.

Google’s First Nexus Tablet

<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1355" title="tablet-gallery-tilt" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/tablet-gallery-tilt-300x188.png" alt="Nexus"width="300" height="188" />I’m getting excited to get my very own Nexus 7 tablet. This will be Google first real push into the tablet arena. While Google introduced Honeycomb with the Motorola Xoom, it was never declared a Nexus device.

I think Google is realizing that while the developer scene for smartphone Android devices is thriving, tablets are not getting as much love. So I’m hoping that with Google letting them know that they are behind tablets will get the developers to start looking that way.

Nexus 7 Coming Soon

Well according to Google I should be getting my Nexus 7 in Mid-July. As soon as I get it I will be doing full review and comparison videos. In the meantime I will be making tutorial videos on the Blackberry Playbook. Stay tuned:

WordPress is decidedly one of the biggest blogging platforms in the world today. Even though it is not a free platform, the professional manner of this platform is what makes it more popular. And that is the reason why a lot of online business entrepreneurs are using WordPress. As a consequence of that, several tools have been released in the market today by which people can enhance the prospects of their WordPress blogs, and SEOPressor is one such tool. Being a new entrant into this genre, we felt it apt to check out SEOPressor and find out if it is really worth all the talk that is going on about it.

What we found out, after testing the product for both performance and efficiency, is that this is a product that’s well worth all the investment made in it. In any case, people are always looking out for the best possible search engine optimization for their business website, and the fact of the matter is that WordPress SEO cannot get any better than what SEOPressor can provide. If used correctly, SEOPressor won’t just bring a WordPress website to the top page of search engines but it will also bring it to the top of the top page. Results can be expected to figure within the top 3 on the first page.

Here we shall take a look at why SEOPressor can achieve that. It’s a fact that this is one SEO tool that works in a very different way from other similar products. Let us tackle these differences one after the other.

<img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1212" title="seopressor-review" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/seopressor-review.jpg" alt="SEOPressor"width="401" height="299" />The Analysis

SEOPressor depends on a factor known as the SEO Score for calculating the worthiness of a particular website. What it will do is it will take some parameters into account and decide whether a particular website will rank well on search engines or not. This score is a very unique aspect of SEOPressor and the best thing about it is that its results correspond exactly with what a superlative tool such as Google Analytics will show you.

The Suggestions

SEOPressor almost dissects your WordPress website and tells you things about it—innermost details that if you pay attention to could improve the prospects of your website to an amazing degree. It will tell you, for instance, if your keyword is placed in the right position or not, and what a better position would be. It will tell you about what kind of format you need to use for your titles—H1, H2 or H3—and it will tell you how the graphics on your website are influencing the prospects of your website. SEOPressor doesn’t just tell you about your mistakes, but it will also tell you the solutions and will offer to do them for you as well. This is one software application that allows you to sit back and relax as it continuously keeps monitoring your website and tells you exactly what you need to do in order to bring up the ranking of your website.

The Newness Factor

This is one thing to consider. The product is quite new, and even WordPress is continuously changing, which makes it definitely a good thing to be new. For instance, SEOPressor is already compatible with the new WordPress 3.0, something that most other WordPress search engine optimization tools on the Internet are still trying to come to grips with.

The Convenience

This is what made this tool a big hit in its initial days. Even now, after several modifications, the plug-in remains just as easy as it was earlier. There’s nothing you need to install; it is just a simple download that you have to do. Despite the program itself being very complex, you don’t need to be a technical whiz to figure it out. The developers have tried to keep their program as much self-driving as possible.

The Secret Algorithm

Since its release, people have wondered about how the results of SEOPressor can match so perfectly with the results of Google Analytics. Only recently was it announced that SEOPressor uses a secret algorithm that works in the very manner that the Google search engine works to rank its websites. Using this particular algorithm, it is almost a no-brainer for SEOPressor to understand what it actually takes for a website to shoot right up the rung on the Google search pile. This is the one thing that has made SEOPressor so famous.

The Developer’s Reputation

SEOPressor has been designed and developed by Daniel Tan, who is one of the greatest search engine optimization gurus in the world today. He has developed successful programs in the past such as the Backlinks Syndication System, the Rank Mover, the Ultimate RSS Joiner and the Press Release Cash Cow. All of these have been quite commended in the online world, which is the same thing that is happening with SEOPressor currently.

Facebook is essentially a black hole to our lives. Add in Twitter , Google+, Tumblr etc. and you really start to lose yourself into a cyber world. I recently read a blog post about a young woman who has decided that she has in a sense had enough of Facebook. Now in her blog post she starts by saying:

I’m quitting Facebook because it makes me feel like a loser.

Now at first I laughed however when I continued to read on it started to make more sense. Not that Facebook makes a person into a loser (Which it probably does) but rather it sucks away your life. When I take a step back from Facebook and actually see how much time I spend on there it kind of frightens me.

I think I easily blow 30 minutes to an hour a day on Facebook. Now I’m not saying that I sit in front of my computer for an hour a day on Facebook. However, if I count all of the time spent on Facebook between the computer and my Android device I think it easily adds up to an hour. <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1136" title="facebook please" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/facebook-please-300x240.jpg" alt="Facebook"width="300" height="240" />You may say to yourself I only go on Facebook for 3 to 5 minutes at a time (Lets be honest that’s conservative, maybe even for smartphone use) but you need to take a look at how many times throughout the day you go to check Facebook for those 3 to 5 minutes. Trust me when I say Facebook is one of the leading causes of procrastination when it comes to a college paper. I can’t tell you the number of times I have seen things on Facebook such as:

I hate writing essays

2 pages down 15 to go

Taking a break from this paper…what’s up Facebook

That only scratches the surface. What ever happened to the days where you couldn’t wait to get your homework done just so you could go outside and play tag or some obscure game with your friends. It begs the question what have I missed out on because of Facebook or some other social network. With all this being said I do believe that there are a lot of plus’s to Facebook.

Pro’s of Facebook

<img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1143" title="facebook-changes-question" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/facebook-changes-question-300x165.jpg" alt="Facebook"width="300" height="165" />Now I can’t completely bash on the worlds most popular social network. I think that there are a lot of pros to Facebook.

The big one has to be social networking such as getting to know people in the “right places” that you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to in the real world. Not even just getting to know the “right people” but getting to “meet” new people in general. I have gotten to know a lot of people especially on Twitter but also Facebook. I have also had the great pleasure to meet a lot of them in person (You know who you are CPACFL crew).

It’s not always easy to keep up to date with your friends / family and Facebook really facilitates this. I have to say it’s really cool to go on Facebook and see my cousin’s getting ready for a hockey game, another cousin in Arizona trying to do a handstand or even seeing my friends back in Ohio installing tree stands on their house.

Now I’m sure that there are plenty more positives to Facebook and feel free to tell in the comment section below. Lets move on to the negatives that come along with Facebook.

<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1174" title="fired_facebook" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/fired_facebook-300x257.jpg" alt="Facebook"width="300" height="257" />Con’s of Facebook

I’ve already mentioned how I think Facebook can be a time consuming waste of time if you will. As I said before 2 to 3 minutes here and there on Facebook and it really starts to add up.

Now one thing I hate and disagree with is that future employers can decide to hire you or not based on Facebook. I highly disagree with this practice (although I can understand a few things), mainly if a human resource manager has a different opinion than you. The main example I would like to bring up is that say if you are very open about being a republican, as I am, and a hiring manager hates republicans for their own reason what’s to stop them from not hiring you just because of that. I feel as though I am a very hard worker but because of my own opinions I may be turned away from a job one day. Now I know that Facebook is not the only social network this could apply to however it is a point to bring up.

Drama….need I say more. Facebook can bring about all types of drama but also good things. I guess I could just unfriend those drama types. Not really much else to say haha.

The feeling like you have to be friends with some people. This kind of ties back to the drama thing where you are friends with some people because they sent you a friend request. Some people get highly offended when you unfriend them as well….who wants to put up with that? What I like about Google+ and Twitter is that you DON’T have to friend back. They can follow you and keep it at that.

Facebook is cludered with crap. By that I mean all these invitations to join a game or “hey meet singles in your area”. How about liking this page because you liked another page. sure sometimes it’s alright but I’m personally kind of tired of it.

That doesn’t bring up a lot of negatives and I’m probably missing some. Please leave your thoughts of the negatives of Facebook below.

<img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1318" title="CISPA-SOPA" src="http://mikesimpkins.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/CISPA-SOPA-300x270.png" alt="Facebook"width="300" height="270" />Facebook Supports CISPA

Now I’m usually not one to stop following/supporting a group because they support something I disagree with but this is different. Facebook supports CISPA and this is bad. CISPA basically allowing the Government and other private corporations to share private data on their “customers” amongst each other. Let’s be honest Facebook has a lot of dirt on everyone, so my thought is that I should stop using Facebook and not give them any more private data on myself.

By the way you can sign an anti-CISPA petition—->HERE!!!

Final Thoughts!

I feel as though I should stop using Facebook and maybe go down to 2 social networks.

Please leave feedback below with your thoughts:

Pros of Facebook

Cons of Facebook

Should I stay or should I go

What do you think about Facebook, Google+ or Twitter (Which is best and why?)
